Victorian Senator Scott Ryan has expressed his pleasure and excitement at being appointed to the role of Shadow Parliamentary Secretary for Small Business and Fair Competition.

“Small business is the engine room of the Australian economy, underpinning growth and innovation and providing jobs for millions of Australians,” Senator Ryan said.

“I am delighted to be given the opportunity to continue to demonstrate the Coalition’s commitment to small business as the Shadow Parliamentary Secretary for Small Business and Fair Competition.”

“Bruce Billson has been a champion of the interests and needs of small business as Shadow Minister. I look forward to working with him to continue to draw attention to Labor’s failures to address the concerns of millions of Australians directly involved in this sector.”

“Only the Coalition understands the pressures faced by the small business sector and the importance of constant attention to the burden of regulations and red tape.”

Since entering Parliament in July 2008, Senator Ryan has served on the Joint Standing Committee on Electoral Matters and as Chairman of the Senate Finance and Public Administration References Committee.
