Young people will learn some of the skills they need to put their ideas into action at today’s Unleashed festival in Melbourne.

Hosted by the Foundation for Young Australians and supported by the Australian Government, Unleashed is targeted at young people aged 16 to 26 from around the country who are interested in leadership.

“This event helps young people learn to turn ideas into reality,” Senator the Hon Scott Ryan, Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister for Education, said.

“It is heartening to see so many young Australians willing to help themselves.”

“I congratulate the Foundation for Young Australians for hosting this event and engaging young people.”

The Australian Government has provided $20,000 in sponsorship to the Foundation for Young Australians for the Unleashed festival, which is expected to be attended by more than 400 young people.

The festival will also include the Unleashed awards and will be attended by E-Raced, a group of three culturally diverse young people from regional Australia who speak about their experience at local events to tackle racism. E-Raced developed out of Heywire, a competition supported by the Australian Government for young Australians from regional and remote areas.
