The Special Minister of State, Senator the Hon Scott Ryan, has today announced a new appointment to the Australian Electoral Commission.
Mr Stephen Kennedy has been appointed the Australian Electoral Officer for Victoria.
Mr Kennedy is currently acting in the role of state manager and Australian Electoral Officer for Victoria. Since his commencement with the AEC in 1993, he has worked in a range of roles, most recently as director of the reform team, acting state manager Queensland and director of operations in Victoria. He has electoral knowledge and experience and strong leadership skills, which will assist him in the role.
“At a time when we are working hard to ensure the integrity of Australia’s electoral system, the appointment of someone with Mr Kennedy’s experience is most welcome,” Senator Ryan said.
